Hello, again.
A few years ago, I set a schedule of releasing an article every other week. I eventually became burned out, struggled to find ideas, and it began to feel like a job. So I stopped. I’m here again, but I decided to take a step back, redesign my site, clean up, and reset before pressing on.
Let me show you around and talk about what’s in store.
A New Home(page)
I refocused the new homepage around my core values and beliefs. I spent a lot of time at the beginning of this year refocusing, and making sure my pursuits were inline with what I value. Part of that time was thinking deeply about what I believe in, what I want to see in the world, and how I can make an impact (even if it’s a small impact).
Articles
I kept a lot of the content I’ve written over the past several years, but I also archived a lot, too. You can still find those articles at the same URLs, but they’re now listed in The Archive.
I plan to write about similar topics, but I’d also like the articles to reflect the interests and passions I’m following as that evolves.
Guides
I’ve been reading a lot about the science and psychology of productivity. Although these books and materials have been full of powerful insights, they often lose applicability in everyday work.
My vision is to take insights from productivity books, articles, and resources, and translate them into practical, actionable guides — mixed with my own learnings — for improving how you work.
The “Guides” will cover a wide range of productivity practices, such as:
- Setting goals
- Weekly planning
- Daily planning
- Daily reviews
- Time management
- Task management
- Establishing routines
- “Deep Work”
- And so much more…
Rather than creating “fixed” materials (e.g. books, screencasts), these will be living, versioned guides I can iterate on. Productivity is a constant refinement process of continual learning, fine-tuning, and experimentation. I hope this format can take advantage of those characteristics.
We’ll talk again very soon.
